Artifice NYC is a nonprofit cultural institution that advances cultural infrastructure by supporting emerging artists and researchers across creative science, installation, and performance. The Artifact Index is its public archive of that practice, a structured, relational record of how cultural work gets made, kept open as it is made. Every artifact carries full provenance: maker, mode, materials, event, venue, and rights.
A future where experimental artists and creative technologists have the infrastructure to bring research, prototypes, and new technologies into public life. Through science-fiction worldbuilding, Artifice builds cultural mobility for these practices, helping speculative work gain visibility, documentation, and institutional relevance.
